Education Officer
Job description
The Education Officer is primarily responsible for the delivery of anti-doping education programs and activities on behalf of the organisation and its Partners.
Key responsibilities
- Liaise and build relationships with International Federations (IFs) and Major Event Organisers (MEOs) in collaboration with the ITA Senior Education Manager and ITA Senior Education Officer Team Lead
- Contribute to the development and implementation of World Anti-Doping Code compliant antidoping Education Programs for the ITA’s International Federations (IFs)and Major Event Organisers (MEO) partners
- Apply the International Standard for Education and its associated guidelines in all areas of the department’s activities
- Compile material for education activities including webinars, workshops and presentations for athletes and other key stakeholders
- Regularly deliver online educational activities on behalf of the ITA and ITA partners (education sessions to athletes, coaches and other support personnel)
- Lead the development of designated education content, activities, resources or projects
- Share information and regularly communicate with education colleagues and ITA departments on key education department activity deliverables
- Collaborate with the ITA Education Ambassador team and consultants
- Deliver activities related to the ITA’s Strategic Plan, ensuring an athlete-centric focus
- On-site delivery of event-based education may occasionally be required
- Carry out administrative tasks and manage other projects as required, maintaining accurate records
Skills and experience required
- Excellent knowledge of the global anti-doping system including the World Anti-Doping Code and International Standard for Education and several years work experience in this or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or Sports Management or other related areas
- Desire to improve, innovate and seek out opportunities to build on and improve the current anti-doping education system
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills; other languages are an asset
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proven client and project management experience and strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong speaking and presentation skills, comfortable in a public-facing role
- Ability to communicate directly and effectively with ITA partners, colleagues, consultants and athletes
- Good knowledge of and ability to use MS Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- A proactive, athlete-centred approach with a positive “can-do” attitude
- Ability to wok under pressure in a sensitive environment and both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to adapt and act effectively when faced with the unexpected.
- Willingness to travel occasionally and to occasionally work outside of traditional office hours
- Olympian/high-performance athlete background is considered an asset
