The Olympic Capital was the scene of a memorable evening on Saturday, January 24, as the Olympic Museum hosted the 2025 World Rowing Awards. The gala event brought together the global rowing community to celebrate the sport’s most inspiring athletes, coaches, and programmes.
As the home of international sport, the City of Lausanne and the Canton of Vaud were proud to provide the stage for this prestigious evening, showcasing the dedication and competitive spirit that defines rowing while honouring the champions who drive the world of rowing forward.
The night was a true showcase of the commitment and passion within the sport. Awards celebrated the Men’s Crew of the Year (Italy), Women’s Crew of the Year (Netherlands), Para Crew of the Year (Great Britain), and Coach of the Year (Diederik Simon, The Netherlands), among other honours.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the prestigious Thomas Keller Medal to the iconic Czech sculler, Ondrej Synek, recognizing his outstanding career and sportsmanship. Congratulations to all the winners and finalists.
